Expired domain crashed apache config

Featured Replies

Hello

Little crash this morning. Took a while to figure out because apache would just throw a "AH00016: Configuration Failed".

Pinned it down to one of my domains that expired. And just after receiving this email, apache won't start anymore

 * apache2: cannot `reload' as it has not been started

I've manually removed the lines in vhosts.conf about this domain, and apache starts. Now froxlor has updated my config again, and apache complains. So if you want me to check on something to pinpoint the issue, don't hesitate.

Btw: happy new year :)

Well, on one site, be sure your acme alias works, the domains DNS is set up correctly, etc. etc.

On the other side, today's release will include a check for mismatching certificate files which should help with this issue (depending on the cause)

Well that exactly the issue.
The dns doesn't work for that domain, as the domain just expired overnight. And basically bombed the whole server :)

Do you use your own DNS server with Froxlor or is DNS handled externally?

for that domain, dns was external and "nameserver was unticked" in the froxlor domain config
