how can i upgrading awstats

I'm using froxlor 0.9.9. I enabled awstats (which was a pain, but in the end it worked somehow)

 

However, I noticed that the awstats version is very old (from 2007), I wanted to know if I can just upgrade it regularly according to the instruction on this page, http://awstats.sourceforge.net/docs/awstats_upgrade.html , which basically just say to replace the files, or are there specific instructions to update the awstats of froxlor.

you can safely upgrade. Froxlor just 'calls' awstats, we do not patch their or anything. awstats is an independent package on its own.
