[solved] Page load timeout?

Featured Replies

Whenever I save something (settings/adding users/adding domains/etc), the page loads for quite a while then times out. When I log back in, I find that the operation completed successfully... while this is usable, it's certainly annoying!

Hey that's the false section to post this subject ;)

Have you froxlor setting up with fcgi? check the file permissions of the froxlor files and php-fcgi starter ;)

Easier said than done... I can't get libnss to work either

What is your problem setting up libnss? If you are on Debian, try libnss-mysql-bg instead and use the Gentoo-configurations (can also be found in the configuration-templates). This worked for me on another Debian machine.

I just tried that configuration too, but following http://wiki.froxlor.org/contrib/fcgid-handbook, it says that the UID should be replaced by username on 'ls -al /var/customers/webs/'... i still see UID even after restart.

Exactly that is why i said try libnss-mysql-bg

Right... and like i said, i did try libnss-mysql-bg... same result :P

- you noticed that -bg has other configuration-filenames and contents as the "normal" libnss-mysql?

- did you restart nscd?

Yes, i followed the gentoo instructions like you said, and i did restart nscd

does the user have an entry in the ftp_users table in the froxlor database

does the user have an entry in the ftp_users table in the froxlor database

hmmm.... no

bad...normally these are created when a customer is created, can you please add a new customer to verify that a std-ftp-user is being created?

  • Author

no, added a new user, it shows up in the control panel (after going through the timeout and refresh), but still nothing in ftp_users

okay, now that's weird...what version do you use exactly and on what system?

  • Author

0.9.11, installed with apt (deb http://debian.froxlor.org/ lenny main) on debian lenny. clean install of debian

  • Author

Nothing?

no. not really, had the same problem on a test-debian system lately but using libnss-mysql-bg fixed that. Please re-check your configuration, especially if the mysql-access-data is correct

  • Author

mysql data is correct, and other content is being written...

well, i will never work if you don't have a main user in the ftp_users table for the customer (which should be created by default when adding a new customer). I will see if I can reproduce this on our debian test-machine tomorrow

Just did a complete rebuild of the server from the ground up, reinstalled froxlor, and having the same problem... creating new customers/domains results in a timeout

has a ftp-user been added to the table "ftp_users" after creating a customer?

  • Author

Update... it didn't even create the directories this time

ah well...so it's not a complete setup. Please finish the setup first

  • Author

I have, I installed via apt, then ran through all the configuration steps, and even went through all the froxlor settings
