Building the cp first on a new distro, and then adding sites, rather than trying to mesh the panel into an existing server set up. Would that be considered the best approach? Sorry bit of a lame question, but I couldn't find a similar step by step guide for new users. Please point me to the correct resource if I have missed something in the wiki or docs.
