February 15, 201214 yr Hello I'd like to suggest adding a feature to the froxlor cronjob. Basically a repair/optimize sql command. This morning No mails could be sent because the mail_virtual table was marked as crashed ... the mysql server didn't crash, and i don't know why this happened. I just ran a repair on it, and optimize, and it's back online. Would it be a good idea to add such an sql command on the cronjob to avoid this kind of problem ?
February 22, 201214 yr Actually I am not a fan of an automated repair and optimization of mysql. As I have posted on my wiki (http://wiki.itadmins.net/doku.php?id=mysql:repair_and_optimization) it is best to do this per hand and only after you have stopped all services that access the server. Which means if you did this automatically you have to stop all services (automatically) do the repair/optimize and then start the services. Depending on what you have running against your DB this could take a while (depending on load and currently running queries).
