What kind of Debian is the best?

Vaio

Question

Hello dear Froxlor community,

first, let me say thank you to all of you who contribute and develop such stuff!

I am new with hosting etc, looking for a CP to learn. I have succesfuly install latest Froxlor on Debian Lenny.

Since this is my first time with linux and Froxlor, please don't take this question offensive, but i was wondering...

1. Under: Server -> Setting -> Webserver settings; i choose ligHTTPd,

but when i look under Overview, i get: System details

Serversoftware: Apache/2.2.9 (Debian) PHP/5.2.6-1+lenny9 with Suhosin-Patch

PHP-Version: 5.2.6-1+lenny9

PHP-Memory-Limit: 128M

MySQL Server Version: 5.0.51a-24+lenny4

MySQL Client Version: 5.0.51a

Webserver Interface: APACHE2HANDLER

2. Under Settings when i installed and first configured server, i choose PowerDNS over Bind9, but if i look under Settings -> Nameserver settings, i see Bind9...

Is this because i installed on VPS some "ISP" version of Debian instead of Debian minimal version or is this not relevant.

On which linux is Froxlor running the best?

Thank you for understanding and hope someday i will be as smart as you guys :)

Kind regards,

V.

Edit: After COnfiguring everything from configure section, do i need to press: Do you really want to rebuild all config files? and Yes? Or will this return system in default state?

Thank you again!

1) you have to have the chosen service installed

2) The used webserver will not automatically change when you set it in the settings, it just tells Froxlor to generate lighttpd configs instead of Apache (plus, you have to stop apache and start lighttpd *after* configuration [see configuration section of the service])

3) Just change the bind-reload command to the powerdns-reload command, the config-directory is not needed for powerdns as it stores its data in the database

4) Yes, you should click on Rebuild all configuration files and no, it won't reset your system to default state (it says rebuild configs, not reset)
