Disable Mail Server

António Pinto

Question

Hello,

Is it possible to completely disable the mailserver (and all it's components) within Froxlor?
We already have a dedicated mailserver on the network so this is redundant and just wastes resources and opens for extra issues.

Note: I'm not looking to simply disable mail for certain hosting plans, I do not want the mailserver processes running in the background.

Thank you!

You would need to set your external SMTP settings in the settings so froxlor does use These to send Mail with ...then, Just dont Install / configure Mail Services on that machine. Should Work. Never Tried though

Ok for the SMTP, makes sense.

Is there anything on the docs regarding NOT installing Mail Services?

Thank you.

No there are no docs about that, simply leave the mail-services configuration templates out. It might be possible if installed via apt package that the postfix package is required, you can always use the tarball froxlor (it's the same just without the requirements being checked)
