April 30, 20188 yr I used the default ftp account, and I also created another one just to be sure, but every time I try to connect on the ftp, I get a message saying Status: Connecting to ipaddresshere:21... Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message... Response: 220 ProFTPD 1.3.5b Server (Debian) [::ffff:192.168.1.16] Command: USER usernamehere Response: 331 Password required for usernamehere Command: PASS ********* Response: 530 Login incorrect. Error: Critical error: Could not connect to server I realize the message says that the password is incorrect, but I checked it, and I also copied/pasted it from the email I received for the ftp account. I also configured filezilla to use plain ftp (insecure). I also tried changing the username to usernamehere@domain but no luck. Any advice on what I should be checking for to resolve this? Could this be an ftp server misconfiguration?
May 3, 20188 yr Hm, best would be to enable debug logging in proftpd and check the server-logs what exactly happens
